1981 The company was established in July 23, 1981 with its Head Office and Factory located in Tangerang, Banten, base on the notarial deed No 121 by Chusu Nuduri Atmadiredja, a vice notary in Tangerang, under the name PT. Industri Kawat Indonesia

1982 The company changed its name to PT. IKI Indah Kabel Indonesia based on the notarial deed No 67 dated 19 March, 1982 by Lieke Lianadevi Tukgali, S.H.

1991 Listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange. Established the Copper Plant

1994 The company’s status was converted to Foreign Direct Investment Company with the participation of Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd., Japan (SEI), based on the Notarial Deed No 24 dated 8 Februari 1995 by Notarist A.Partomuan Pohan, S.H.,LL.M. and published in state Gazette No.5417 dated 30/6-1995 no.52.

1995 The company received official recognition of its Quality Management System Standard from SGS, Certification ISO 9002 for the manufacture of Power and Control Cables, Telecommunication Cablesd, Fiber Optic Cables and Conductors (aluminum and copper wire) and extended its standards to ISO 9001 including Design in 1999. This was the first certification of its kind in Indonesia, for the Electric Cable and Wire Industries.

1996 Installed the CCV Line with "Common Cross Curing Process" For Medium Voltage Cable and Optical Fiber Plant. Acquired ISO 9002 Certificate for Copper Rod and Optical Fiber

1998 The Company established "PT. KARYA SUMIDEN INDONESIA" with SEI Japan which manufacturer Copper Rod & Wire. The paid up capital of the company was increased from Rp.36,000,000,000,- to Rp.306,000,000,000,-

1999 The company changed its name from PT. IKI Indah Kabel Indonesia Tbk., to PT. Sumi Indo Kabel Tbk. based on the Notarial Deed no 14 dated 4 December 1998 by Notarist A. Partomuan Pohan, SH, LL.M and was approved by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Indonesia in his decision letter No. C-2138.HT.01.04.TH.’99. dated 29 January 1999 and published in state Gazette No1435 tanggal 2/3-1999 no.18. Acquired: · ISO 9001 Certificate for Power Cable, Telephone Cable and Optic Fiber Cable. · Type Test Approval for Control Cable from Kansai Electric Power Company Japan .

2000 Acquired Type Test Approval from : · Tokyo Electric Power Company Japan . · Chugoku Electric Power Company Japan . · Hokkaido Electric Power Company Japan .   MITI( Japan Industrial and Trade Ministry).

2001 The company received recognition as a Bonded Zone Company based on Kep No.278/KMK.04/2001 and extended it based on Kep Men Keu No.1039/KM.4/2012 dated 13 April 2012. The company acquired the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) certification, which was the first certification of its kind in Indonesia for the Electric Cable and Wire Industries. 2007 Acquired New JIS Mark Certificate from JECTEC Japan Registered certification body by The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industy of Japan. Acquired certificate approval for Optical Fiber Cable from Telkom

2010 The Company got recognition of ISO 9001:2008 from SGS for Quality Management System which has been maintained until today for the period 2013-2016. Also for Environment Management System Company maintained ISO 14001:2004 certificate for the period 2013-2016 which have been obtained since the year 2010.
